National Law University Cuttack has ranked 30th in NIRF Ranking 2023 in the Law category. Founded in 2009, the National Law University Odisha is one significant addition to the national law universities of India. The university was set up by Act 4, 2008 by the Odisha State Legislature and commenced its journey from the academic year 2009-10. It has been receiving grants under the XIIth plan after getting recognition from the University Grants Commission (UGC) since then. All the degrees including B.ALL.B, B.B.ALL.B, LL.M, M.Phil, Ph.D are recognised by the Bar Council of India. NLUO is a participant in the National Knowledge Network under the Indian Government's Ministry of Information Technology and Communication. It is also an associate member of the UGC-INFLIBNET. NLUO graduates are well known to have yielded exceptional results and high performances in moot court competitions and conferences and seminars at both national and international level. The University is located near Naraj, at the extreme western part of Cuttack which is noted for its scenic beauty.
